Our Art and Yoga Retreat - a sample itinerary

​Dates: Monday September 8th - Friday September 12th 2025
Venue: Ananda Yoga Retreat, Coniston

Daily Schedule:
Monday PM: Arrival


* Afternoon (2:00 PM onwards): Arrival and check-in. Welcome refreshments (herbal teas,
local treats).
* Late Afternoon (4:00 PM - 5:00 PM): Gentle introductory yoga session focused on
grounding and releasing travel tension.
* Evening (6:00 PM): Welcome dinner – a nourishing, locally sourced meal.
* Evening (7:30 PM): Informal gathering, introductions, and an overview of the retreat
schedule.

Tuesday: Awakening Creativity
* Morning (7:30 AM - 8:30 AM): Relaxing yoga session - perhaps focusing on gentle
stretches and mindful breathing to awaken the body and calm the mind.
* Morning (8:30 AM - 9:30 AM): Nutritious and delicious breakfast.
* Late Morning (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM): Mindfulness Art Activity: Introduction to intuitive
painting. Exploring the connection between breath, movement, and mark-making. Using
large paper and non-toxic paints to freely express emotions and sensations in a safe
environment and without judgment.
* Lunch (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM): Light and nourishing lunch.
* Afternoon (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM): Continued Mindfulness Art Activity: Focusing on layering,
colour exploration, and noticing the present moment through the creative process. Gentle
guidance and individual support provided.
* Late Afternoon (Free Time): Opportunity for personal reflection, journaling, or enjoying the
venue and surroundings.
* Evening (6:00 PM): Dinner.
* Evening (7:30 PM): Optional gentle stretching or guided meditation.

Wednesday: Village Wander and Sonic Serenity

* Morning (7:30 AM - 8:30 AM): Yoga session - in preparation for the day's walk and activity
* Morning (8:30 AM - 9:30 AM): Breakfast.

* Late Morning (10:00 AM - 1:00 PM):  Walk to a nearby Lake District village.
Encourage mindful observation of the scenery, sounds, and smells. Option for a stop at a
local shop or cafe, opportunities to sketch

* Lunch (1:00 PM - 2:00 PM): Enjoy a packed lunch in the village or return to the
venue.
* Afternoon (Free Time): Rest, read, or further explore the local area
* Evening (6:00 PM): Light and simple dinner.

* Evening (7:30 PM - 8:30 PM): Immersive Gong Sound Bath experience. Lie down comfortably
and allow the vibrations of singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments to promote deep
relaxation and inner peace.

Thursday: Connecting with Nature's Palette

* Morning (7:30 AM - 8:30 AM): Gentle yoga session, linking breath with movement, colours
and sounds.
* Morning (8:30 AM - 9:30 AM): Breakfast.
* Late Morning (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM): Mindfulness Art Activity: Nature-inspired art.
Gathering natural materials and using them to create collages or land art inspired pieces.  
Focus on the textures, shapes, and colours of the natural world.
* Lunch (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM): Light and nourishing lunch.
* Afternoon (1:30 PM - 3:30 PM): Continued Mindfulness Art Activity: Exploring watercolor
painting inspired by the Lake District landscape. Focusing on capturing the essence and
atmosphere of the surroundings.
* Late Afternoon (Free Time): Opportunity for a short mindful walk or further creative
exploration.
* Evening (6:30 PM): Farewell dinner – a celebratory meal with an opportunity to share
experiences from the retreat.
* Evening (8:00 PM): Optional gentle stretching or finish artwork

Friday: Departure
* Morning (7:00 AM - 7:45 AM): Gentle and grounding yoga session perhaps focusing on
gratitude and taking the retreat's benefits forward.
* Morning (7:45 AM - 8:45 AM): Breakfast.
* Morning (9:00 - 10 AM): Check-out and departure.
