Phil is a talented artist and tutor based in East Yorkshire, UK. His work ranges from oil paintings and acrylic works, to life drawings and from simple but effective soft-pencil sketches to watercolours. Phil will be the first to say that he likes texture in a painting - and he will happily immerse himself in intuitive painting and abstract art too. 

Phil enjoys the challenge of outdoor 'plein air' painting, he likes to work alla prima where's there's an opportunity but many of the works that Phil produces involves painting, lifting paint, removing surfaces, adding more paint and working an idea through to a satisfying visual conclusion.
